The light of the south of France will enchant you. Wild herbs such as rosemary and thyme grow in abundance. Relax under our old olive and mulberry trees. We also have many fig trees in our garden, which produce delicious figs in summer. ou can swim in our private and sheltered swimming pool. We have plenty of parasols to provide shade and sun loungers for you to relax on. his is the ideal place to get away from it all. You can also hike through the surrounding vineyards and enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the countryside.

There are several stables nearby if you would like to go horse riding. We will be happy to put you in touch with the owners. You can also hire a bike and have it delivered to the house. The famous cycling route through the vineyards, ‘La Vigne à Vélo’, starts right in front of the house.

Every day there is a farmers’ market in one of the neighboring villages. On Saturdays there is a large flea market 2 minutes from our house, which is well worth a visit. There you can find everything from antique furniture and kitchen utensils to toys and curiosities. There’s nothing better than a barbecue on the terrace. A large and very well-stocked supermarket is just a 5-minute drive away. During your vacation in La Bastide, you will not be short of things to see.

The south of France is worth a trip all year round

April
It’s spring and the earth is awakening. The flowers begin to bloom: peonies in pink and yellow, red poppies, purple wisteria, pink and white fruit tree blossoms and rosemary. Spring is particularly recommended for those who like it a little cooler. Go for a hike or explore mountain bike trails through wineries and vineyards.

May and June
Provence kicks off with warm temperatures well into early summer. Now the pool season opens and it’s time to relax under the flowering mulberry trees. The lavender blossom begins in June.

June and August
The lavender is in full bloom. The lavender is harvested at the end of July/beginning of August. It is hot and sunny in Provence. Relax on the beautiful beaches of Fréjus or take a dip in the clear lake of Saint-Cassien.

September and October
Bathed in warm light and pleasant temperatures, Provence invites cyclists and hiking enthusiasts. The vineyards turn golden-orange and it’s harvest time for the wine.

The farmers’ markets nearby

Provence offers a wide range of excellent produce and crafts. The farmers’ markets in the area have everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to wine, cheese, charcuterie, soaps, Provençal tablecloths, honey and more.
